Sip! Extraordinary Chocolate Budino
Rich, creamy, dark chocolate indulgence inspired by an Italian classic.

Ingredients
- 345 g. (1-1/2 c.) whole milk
- 170 g. (3/4 c.) half and half
- 130 g. (1 c. + 2 T) Sip! Extraordinary Drinking Chocolate®, Dark Chocolate flavor
- 90 g. (6 T) sugar
- 60 g. (3 ea.) large egg yolks
- 1/8 t. salt
- 5 g. (1 t.) vanilla extract
- 90 g. (3 oz) dark chocolate 64%, chopped
- 30 g. (2 T) unsalted butter
- whipped cream as needed
- Amaretti cookies, crushed as needed
Method
- Place the milk in a medium sauce pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the half and half, Sip! Extraordinary Drinking Chocolate® mix, sugar, egg yolks, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Bring the milk to a simmer over medium-high heat.
- Whisk the hot milk slowly into the chocolate mixture.
- Strain the mixture back into the sauce pan.
- Cook over medium heat whisking constantly. Turn the heat to low when bubbles start to pop on the surface.
- Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
- Whisk in the dark chocolate and butter. Mix well.
- Divide the budino into 6 serving dishes. Cover with plastic wrap to touch the surface.
- Cool and refrigerate at least 4 hours until set.
- Top with whipped cream and crushed amaretti cookies. Serve immediately.
Notes
- This recipe was developed with Guittard L’Etoile du Nord 64% dark chocolate.
- Substitute any high quality 64% chocolate.
- Substitute Sip! Extraordinary Drinking Chocolate®, Peppermint flavor, for a delicious variation.
